What a whirlwind. After my graduation I spent some good times saying goodbye to my friends from ND. I hope this blog helps me keep in touch with everyone or at the least lets them laugh at me. I was sad to see everyone go, but it was happy too. We had completed a great adventure and had so many experiences and now its time for a new adventure.
I had an awesome few days in Conn. with Eric to see the USCGA graduation. Within an hour of getting in I was driven to a casino near the academy for a graduation ball. Of course, I proceeded to spend way too much on drinks and leave the dancing to Eric. The next day I saw drill and spent my day hanging at the academy. The third day was graduation itself, and thankfully the weather held out. Dick Cheney was the speaker and given my low expectations his speach wasn't too bad. Most importantly, my main man and best friend graduated and is now in the fleet
That night was rocking. We had some toasts with Eric's cousins and learned dirty Tagalog words. Then we went out to the many beach parties with our own case of beer, which we finished. Needless to say my eagle sweater was in full effect and the legend continues (I'm leaving out some of the more R-rated parts here). The downside being that I spent the night at Eric's friend Matt's place, well, Matt's place has no heat and it was freezing in the morning
The next day I was pretty spent from the parties. Not one of my brighter moments but I managed to puke at the academy. Then I lost money playing MY game of craps at the casino. But I really didn't care because I got to chill with Eric and Matt on the beach, smoke cigars, take a dip in the water (in the buff), and have a campfire.
Well, I finally made it home and now I have to get busy getting ready to go to Taiwan. It was awesome to finally see my dog, she looks really old now. It was a little strange though, my mom is painting the inside of the house so every time I come home it looks different. I'm not even sure I want to see what surprises are in store in "my" room.
